About   Us

Groceries

Our village has a corner store which stocks regional products; fruit and vegetables, meat, wine, and household goods.  We are also near major supermarkets like InterMarche and Super U for general shoppiing.

Gourmet pleasures

You will taste with happiness the local specialties, like goat's cheese from Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, the potted pork called Rillettes, wild Boar from local forests, and the little black chicken, La Geline.  And not forgetting alongside its Vouvray, Chinon, and Bourgueil wines, our area (Touraine) boasts nine appellations d'origine controllee (AOC), including Sasnieres and Montlouis.

If you fancy eating out, we are fortunate to have the best chefs in the area just 3 km away in the next village.  La Promenade has delicious food and an excellent wine selection.  The restaurant has been awarded a coveted 'Michelin Star'.

There are also many good regional restaurants offering quality food not too far away.

General policy

Our rates include all taxes, electricity, bed linen, towels, and normal cleaning.  A holding deposit of 20% is required to secure your stay, with final payment on your arrival.  A security deposit of 100 euros is required on arrival.  The deposit will be returned at the end of your stay, less an amount for any breakages, damage or should the accommodation require 'excessive' cleaning.  You agree to maintain the property in the same condition as it was found.  Reasonable wear and tear is accepted.  Cancellations must be received at least 10 days prior to arrival date, or we cannot refund your deposit.  We cannot provide refunds for early departures.  A final cleaning service is available at a cost of 75 euros.

Our other accommodation

Gite - La Conciergerie

Gite - Maison des Chouettes

B&B - Chateau de La Celle-Guenand

We are a family owned and run accommodation business and we do not have staff (other than our lovely cleaning lady).  We encourage our guests to enjoy the grounds of the Chateau and the many activities in the area, and are usually on hand throughout the day if you need assistance.  We are just off the beaten track, near historic Loches (see map below).  We've been up and running since 2009.  We are delighted to welcome you to this unique part of central France, where we are sure you will find the sense of peace and calm the perfect base for your holiday to visit the many natural wonders of the Loire Valley.
